New applications are exposed to malicious attacks, making perimeter security inadequate.

Official launch of the ASCiDy project: a sovereign innovation for product cybersecurity

22 October 2025 marks an important milestone for French cybersecurity: the official launch of the ASCiDy project, a Technology Transfer Programme to Cyber Campuses (PTCC) led by EURECOM and MOABI, with the support of INRIA and Campus Cyber. This project perfectly illustrates the synergy between academic innovation and industrial expertise, in an approach resolutely focused on digital sovereignty. A project born out of a shared ambition The ASCiDy project aims to enhance software product security through a proactive and automated approach to vulnerability detection. With cyberattacks exploiting the software supply chain on the rise, the objective is clear: identify vulnerabilities before they become exploitable flaws. Thanks to close collaboration between EURECOM’s research teams and MOABI’s industrial expertise, ASCiDy will enable the integration of a dynamic analysis (fuzzing) component into the MOABI platform, capable of testing software without requiring access to its source code. This approach will enable the detection of zero-day vulnerabilities with unprecedented accuracy, while maintaining complete automation of the analysis and fuzzing processes. An alliance between research and industry ASCiDy’s success is based on a strategic alliance between three centres of excellence: By combining these complementary areas of expertise, ASCiDy aims to create a new standard for software analysis in Europe, at the crossroads of academia and industry. A direct response to current challenges Product security and software supply chain control have become strategic priorities for both governments and manufacturers. The European NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) now impose strict requirements: companies must be able to prove the compliance and resilience of their software products. MOABI directly addresses these challenges by enabling: The objective is twofold: to protect critical infrastructure and to equip industrial players to become autonomous in their product cybersecurity approach. A major technical innovation From a technical standpoint, ASCiDy complements the capabilities of the MOABI platform, which already specialises in static binary analysis. With this new dynamic component, the platform will now combine two complementary approaches: This combination offers a 360° view of software security, where each component is analysed, correlated and continuously monitored. The results are consolidated in a single dashboard, accessible to both technical experts and cybersecurity and compliance managers. A long-term vision Beyond technology, ASCiDy is part of a national and European strategic approach. The project contributes to building a sovereign ecosystem of product cybersecurity innovation, based in Sophia-Antipolis and interconnected with French research and innovation hubs. This vision is aligned with national priorities in terms of digital sovereignty and industrial resilience. By making cybersecurity measurable, accessible and automated, ASCiDy aims to raise the overall level of security for economic players, from large groups to SMEs. Jonathan Brossard (MOABI) Keynote Speaker at Rust Day Paris 2025: ‘The Origins of Evil – Memory Corruption and Software Security’

Jonathan Brossard, the CEO and CTO of MOABI, will deliver the keynote address at Rust Day Paris 2025 on 25 June, an event organised by Systematic Paris-Region. The conference will bring together over 200 professionals, developers, and industrial decision-makers who use the Rust programming language, providing a platform to share their experiences and explore the practical applications of this rapidly evolving technology. In his keynote speech, entitled ‘The Origins of Evil’, Jonathan will explore the fundamental category of cybersecurity problems known as ‘undecidable’ problems, of which memory corruption is a primary symptom. Memory corruption accounts for almost 70% of current exploitable vulnerabilities. Mr Brossard will highlight the major advantages of the Rust language, which is particularly valued in the industry for its unique memory management system that theoretically guarantees the absence of such vulnerabilities. The presentation will therefore emphasise the importance of constant vigilance and a proactive approach to cybersecurity. Participants will also have a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of current challenges and explore how technological innovation can address these complex issues.
